The Lost Symbol

This is Jason posting.

I finished reading, “The Lost Symbol” by Dan Brown.  Boy it was a fast read!  It seems to me that the book reads more like a movie than a book.  There were lots of interesting information about the Masons, symbology and Noetic science.  It was pretty exciting to read and I didn’t want to put it down once I got started.  I kind of wished for more descriptions of the structures that Dan uses for his scenes in the book.  I felt that there weren’t as many mysteries to solve compared to his other two books.  It was pretty easy to guess who the antagonist was.  It was easy to guess where the lost word was resting.  The philosophical stuff at the end of the book felt like Dan was pushing the idea of humans being able to be godlike.  It almost sounded sort of like humans can become the psychic Borg.  I don’t agree with the idea that the God of all the different religions around the world is the same God.  It sounds nice.  Very new Age.  Sorry but there is only one true God, one true Elohim (father, son and holy ghost).  Yeah, lots of stuff taken out of context.  Makes for a nice finish to the book though.  I liked his first two books much better.
