This is Jason posting.

We went to Hodad’s down at Ocean Beach with Philip and Jessica.  It was one of the things she wanted to do before she graduated SDSU and left San Diego.  So Hodad’s.  What a place!  The walls are completed covered in license plates!  There is also a surfing board hung from the ceiling in the middle of the room.  Boy was it crowded!  Every seat was taken!  Thankfully we did not have to wait very long to sit down.  We placed our orders.  The wifey and I had a single bacon cheeseburger while Philip had a double bacon cheeseburger and Jessica had a mini cheeseburger.  We decided to share a basket of Frings.  Frings is a mix of onion rings and fries.  The Frings came first and it was yum!  The onion rings were fried perfectly and had a great crunch.  Plus the onion did not drag out with your bite!  They also had potato wedges as the fries.  The potato wedges were seasoned well and had a great crunch to them.  We ate most of the basket before the burgers came.  The wait was worth it.  The burgers were stuffed with pickles, onions, tomato slices and lettuce.  Wow, it was huge!  You definitely needed the hunch from DDD in order to eat this bad boy.  I could barely get my mouth to take 1 bite of the whole burger.  Philip’s double was gigantic!  Let me say, he was very excited!  He declared that this was the best thing he has ever eaten.  I don’t think the burger was super special.  I do have to say it was very, very moist.  It was seasoned perfectly.  It had tons of fresh veggies.  The burger was just built right.  Together, it was a great burger especially for the price.  YUM!  It definitely put me in a food coma afterwards.  I had a bit of trouble keeping myself awake while the wifey and I walked around Joann’s.  Heck, I’m still digesting it right now…hm.  Yeah, it was worth the drive from Rancho Bernardo all the way down to Ocean Beach.  Too bad we don’t live closer to it because we’d probably go there whenever we had a burger craving.
